under a panacea
of sensuality and
cowardice. (not lecherous
salacity until you

niggardliness and wistful,
deepest yearning sovereign.
pining, ravenous spirits,
desperate, vilest of beasts--
covetous rapacity.
wrath
devils strike our suffering
young hearts with ferocious
cruelty. (we fall, broken,
our dark secrets glossed over.)
minds on fire; revenge has no
language. calculated
coldness disappears, ruthless
venom reigns omnipotent.

but lupine maliciousness)
gluttony
egoistic overwhelm the
benevolent; narcissistic
humanity is only
obsessed with the self-centered
souls. (let's eat McDonald's with
celebrities while thousands
of children starve in the slums

secreting emotions and
importance; unswervingly
otiose. (lethargy winks
at the slave who kisses her

not to be owned. (by only
the licentious sinners
of furfuraceous and hard,
calloused, and partisan hearts.)

October short story
It was staring at me, from the window. Its eyes never wavering from meeting mine. Its mouth was just a wide jagged line of sharp teeth frozen into a lip-less smile. Its long claws curved and filthy with something awful. There was something staining the window, the street light outside illuminating chunks and making the dripping lines glow. The creature was unmoving from its spot.
The terrifying part is that it’s on the inside of the window.

The darkness pressed against my corneas, diffusing across the transparent boundary into the aqueous humour, as if it were a solid object forcing its way to my retinas, obscuring my vision. The distant creaks of the old house lent a menacing atmosphere to the blackness permeating the almost silent rooms, the almost footsteps complementing the almost-forms of the dark.
As the sleep fell away from me, the looming tenebrosity receded and the house took on a less perturbing aspect. The creaks were just creaks, the shadows in the corners of the room were just the places that the dim light from the power extension cable near the bed did

well, this took me several days to write.(which is why I haven't been very active, oh well) it was a lot of fun researching the different sins, (if you don't know what the 7 Deadly Sins are, click this:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_de… but I swear, trying to find words other than "greed, selfish, hate," etc. made thesaurus.com my new best friend. 
( hey! guess what you can find if you look at the syllable count in each line? *wink wink*)
PROMPT: (try it for yourself!) my friend challenged me to write a poem about one (I chose all, ha!) of the 7 Deadly Sins. And if you look closely, you'll see a requirement in each of the lines...
and who knew " niggardliness" was a word?
